Children’s Literacy Project

Due to the uncertain economic environment, the Board of Directors at Hiram’s Edge Literacy Project (HELP) has decided to postpone the inaugural Reader’s Cup Golf Tournament until further notice. This was a tough decision for us to make, considering the excellent outpouring of support we have had in the short time this tournament has been in the works. However, we believe that this is the right decision for all parties involved.

History of H.E.L.P. for Young Readers

The Hiram’s Edge Literacy Project filed a Certificate of Incorporation as a Non-Profit Foundation with the Secretary of State’s Office in Massachusetts on June 25, 2018. For the past two years, our founding members have been working with children and parents struggling with the financial burdens of providing the reading materials, tablets, and laptops that are essential for quality education in today’s world.

The primary objective of our literacy project is to instill a love of reading in younger children. Our research has shown that many children do not read simply because they are given books they have no interest in reading. Classic literature is important, but starting out with a Harry Potter or Percy Jackson novel will more often than not “light the fire” inside a young mind and give a child a passion for reading.
